Well, there's no better place to start than the beginning. Welcome to our park tour of the city of Abbotsford. Growing up the city was comprised of three different parts, Matsqui, Clearbrook and Abbotsford.
It was confusing back in the day, we technically lived in Matsqui, but we were closer to Clearbrook and our mailing address was Abbotsford. I guess it's a good thing that it was all amalgamated into one, but personally I would have named it Matsfordbrook, but I wasn't consulted. The boys and I are venturing around our "City in the Country" and will try to cover as many parks as we can in our short summer vacation.
We're starting with the heart of our city. City Hall. We began here to obtain some sort of map to help guide us to all the parks. The map is dodgy at best, and the parks department is not totally sure how many parks there actually are, so there's no way of knowing how long this will take us and how lengthy this blog will get. However, the confusion is immediately rewarded by there being a park directly outside City Hall's doors.
Civic Park! Sounds so playful eh? Not much for grass and play area, but high in concrete and water fountains. Also high in temptation to shove siblings into watery areas.
There seems to be a recurring theme around the water, it really is beautiful albeit attractive for troublemaking. Time to find another park!
